A new sensational book titled Keep off the grass, written by the Karan Bajaj . It is a journey through the IIM-B from manhattan . During the journey Samrat, an addict of marijuana and all types of drugs survives in the IIM-B leaving his job as an investment banker with the reputable bank of the Wall Street in the USA. The book is an adventure into a meaningless life.
What do you do when you are a twenty-five-year-old Yale graduate making half-a-million dollars a year as a hotshot investment banker on Wall Street? You run behind money and become a millionaire by thirty, of course. Not if you are Samrat Ratan, a NRI quits and enrolls in business school in India instead.Samrat’s journey begins at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Bangalore, where he spends his time getting high on drugs while his grades doze down as how joint joints down. Soon, Samrat’s quest for self invention reaches heights when in IIM , reaches to extents of counting the no. of bars in prison, travels to himalayas, ghats of benaras.. u know wat... he lives a life in IIM.
Being – Yale valedictorian, investment banker, survives his fall from grace.
Very smart book. Read cover to cover in just one sitting and enjoyed is thoroughly. I just couldn’t keep the book down as it became more and more interesting as I turned the pages. I usually don’t read fiction and almost never by Indian authors except for Chetan Bhagat and books of this genre. This book is a complete thriller and yes, it does justice to the number of trees cut to make this book I enjoyed reading it more than the last 2 attempts at writing fiction by Chetan Bhagat. What Chetan had done to IIT in Five Point Someone, which I liked, Karan has done to IIM-B and done it well.
Smart book, not best by any means gives a challenging potrayal of life in IIM. better to read and throw than not read.
P.S. this blog shall contain descriptions bout my journey through pages and is not bout best books i ve read ,though i ve read great books i wanna describe at this blog , bout only those i read from now.
