Agneepath : Review

Agneepath , 2012 Film directed by Karan Malhotra and Produced by Dharma Productions based on a movie with same name Produced by Yash Johar and directed by Mukul S Anand starring Amit uncle.

The movie has famous lines written by HarivanshRai Batchan in the poem Agneepath which has been said both in start and in the climax by the protagonist.

When comparing with original , MithunDa roles has been removed and Rauf Lala played by Rishi Kapoor has been included. Hence there is some change in the script.

The story is typical Revenge after grow story where Vijay’s Character takes revenge for his Father’s death who was hanged by Kancha played by Sanjay Baba.

Story has been discussed a lot and I’m going to emphasis only on the positives and negatives in the movie.

Powerful acting by Sanjay Dutt , Hrithik and Rishi Kapoor with Om Puri rightly doing what is cake walk for him. No meaty role for PG , Zarina did with to play the role of Susheela.

Songs were great to see when visualized particularly the song when Rauf Lala’s son is about to get married and the "Deva Shree Ganesha" song. Back ground music is one of the best in recent times.

Screenplay is week in parts and is suddenly flashes and then again becomes dull. The screenplay is moved by performances by actors and this part alone in the movie has to be changed, iFeel.

Sanjay Baba gets salute from me for his ruthless performance though my expectations was huge , somewhere I feel he didn’t do a Gabbar singh when he had an opportunity to do so.

The art direction of erecting a complete set in diu was visible and I thank Sabu Cyril who in my opinion is no 1 in Production design in India at present.

Cinematography looks classic at least for the dark scenes in mandwa And crowded places in Dongri … "Deva Shree Ganesha" Cinematography will live in my eyes for sure.

Ravi K Chandran and one more fellow (I don’t remember the name) have done a perfect job .

Chikni Chameli was fine , I m not impressed thanks to countless time I have watched…

The Dialogues were a downer I feel. Though there were lot of montages , places where dialogues needed to be crisp weren’t. The area should have been improved particularly it is a Revenge Gang war story.

I would definitely vouch to see the movie and I feel it as a great start for Bollywood this year (At least for me)

Don’t miss this. Go Mind-blind and you will enjoy.
